FOXBOROUGH, Mass. Taylor Gabriel Jersey . - Vince Wilfork has played only two career games in Kansas City. Thats more than enough for New Englands All-Pro nose tackle to know exactly how loud Arrowhead Stadium will get on Monday night. Theyre probably one of the loudest, between them and Seattle, are the loudest stadiums Ive ever played in, Wilfork said Thursday in anticipation of the Patriots (2-1) primetime matchup with the Chiefs (1-2). Its going to be rocking. I know it will. Fortunately for Wilfork and the rest of the Patriots defence, crowd noise wont be nearly as much of a factor for them as it will for quarterback Tom Brady and the offence. Thats a good thing, too, because theyll already have their hands full trying to slow the Chiefs potent rushing attack, which is averaging 124.7 yards per game despite the absence of their star running back last week. Three-time Pro Bowler Jamaal Charles left Kansas Citys second game of the season against Denver with an ankle injury and sat out the Chiefs win over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. After the team had Tuesday and Wednesday off, Charles returned to practice Thursday and coach Andy Reid said he expects him to play against the Patriots. Not that it seems to matter, though. The Chiefs have a stable of running backs ready to attack New Englands 11th-ranked rushing defence. Second-year back Knile Davis came up big after Charles went down, rushing for 79 yards and two touchdowns while also catching six passes against the Broncos. Davis then ran for 132 yards and a touchdown on 32 carries against the Dolphins, while Joe McKnight caught a pair of touchdown passes. Wilfork and the Patriots are preparing for Charles, but will be ready for whoever takes the field. They didnt miss a beat last week without him, Wilfork said. This is a team that wants to run the football, thats what they do, theyre built to run the ball. We have to be able to stop all of them when it comes down to it. Not an easy task, either, considering the varying skill sets of both. A fleet-footed, elusive runner, Charles is effective in both the running and passing games, and is coming off a career year in 2013 when he had 1,287 yards rushing and 12 touchdowns, and also added 70 receptions and seven more scores. Charles, theres not too many guys faster than him, Wilfork said. Ill tell you that. Then theres Davis, more of a straight-ahead back who is 5-foot-10, 227 pounds and can pound the ball with the best of them. I think theyre different skill sets, but they do the same things with them so the same plays look different depending on who is carrying the ball, Patriots coach Bill Belichick said. Davis is strong ... and he breaks tackles, hes got good lower body strength, hard guy to bring down. Charles has good playing strength, too, but hes more elusive, great quickness, acceleration. Theyre different, but theyre both very good. They both can hit the home run ball, theyve both got great long speed a€” they have that in common a€” but their styles are a little bit different. Wilfork sees plenty of similarities, too. They both run downhill, they both test the edges, they both catch the ball out of the backfield, they both block. Theyre built differently but at the same time, they run hard, like a big back, he said. We have to do a real good job up front of playing well, in the run game and the pass game, because they use them so much everywhere on the field. As if that tandem isnt scary enough for New Englands defence, it also has to be wary of Alex Smith, who ranks second among all quarterbacks this season with 95 yards rushing on 13 rushing attempts. Im not saying he wants to run 10, 15 times a game, but when he has to, he does it, and he makes plays, Wilfork said. And its not like hes sliding. A lot of times you think hes going to slide and he cuts back and kind of catches defences by surprise because hes not sliding. Hes a smart football player. Chase Daniel Bears Jersey . Left back Armero opened the scoring in the fifth minute when his deflected shot rolled past Greece goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis. Striker Teofilo Gutierrez poked in Colombias second goal from a deflected corner in the 58th and James Rodriguez capped it off with a low shot in stoppage time after a slick backheel flick from Juan Cuadrado. "Well, Id think if any place could work quicker or be indoctrinated faster than anywhere else . . . it would be in Canada," the Pro Football Hall of Famer said Thursday. "I mean, lets face it, you have the Canadian league here thats a little bit different, but the gist of the games are pretty much the same. "You already have a fan base, not only for the Canadian league but also for the NFL because theyre so close. I would think it would be a natural direction to go if they went outside the U.S." A Toronto-based group that includes rocker Jon Bon Jovi is bidding to purchase the Buffalo Bills. Also in the running are Buffalo Sabres owners Terry and Kim Pegula as well as New York City real estate mogul Donald Trump. The biggest hurdle facing the Toronto group -- which also includes MLSE chairman Larry Tanenbaum and the Rogers family, which controls Rogers Communications -- is its intentions to possibly relocate the Bills franchise to the Ontario capital. But that couldnt happen until 2020, at the earliest, because of the stadium lease late owner Ralph Wilson negotiated with the state of New York and Erie County. Under terms of the agreement, the Bills must remain at Ralph Wilson Stadium through the 2019 season and could be relocated for a US$28.4-million fee. So could the Bills exist with another NFL team based in Toronto? Montana said thereve been examples of competing franchises being located very closely together. "The 49ers and (Oakland) Raiders have lived within less distance than that," he said. "The Raiders and (Los Angeles) Rams lived together in less distance than that. "But I dont know if the population (of Western New York and southern Ontario) would support between the two." Montana, 58, was in town Thursday to promote the start of the 2014 NFL regular season as well as help the league raise money for Special Olympics. Its a charity that Montana, who guided the San Francisco 49ers to four Super Bowl titles over 14 seasons, said theres much value in. "The nice thing about it is its giving people who enjoy sports that arent as fortunate as others an opportunity to compete," hhe said. James Daniels Bears Jersey. "I think its a wonderful thing because sports, no matter who you are, is a positive, and Im glad the NFL is part of it." Montana spent 16 seasons in the NFL with San Francisco (1979-92) and Kansas City (1993-94). An eight-time Pro Bowl selection, Montana led the 49ers to league titles in 1981, 84, 88-89 and three times was named the Super Bowl MVP, throwing 11 TD passes with no interceptions in his four championship-game appearances. His TD pass to a leaping Dwight Clark -- aptly dubbed "The Catch" -- led San Francisco past Dallas in the 81 NFC championship game and defined the 49ers rise to prominence. Twice an NFL MVP and the leagues comeback player of the year in 86, Montana was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2000. But Montana said his NFL accomplishments never wouldve happened had he been forced to concentrate solely on football while growing up in Pennsylvania. "If you had made me choose (one sport) in high school, I wouldve chosen basketball," Montana said. "I didnt expect to be playing football, I really thought I was going to school for basketball and had I, I wouldnt be sitting here right now." Its for that reason Montana supports kids playing myriad sports and not concentrating on just one. "I would much rather see them be more rounded," he said. "Why take opportunities away from kids? "I dont think kids are fully (developed) enough to be using one set of muscles all the time. Let them go out and find out what sport they really like and which one theyll be better at and may grow at." As for the 14 NFL season, Montana figures the defending champion Seattle Seahawks -- who faced the Green Bay Packers in Thursday nights opener -- will be in contention again. "I think the 49ers and Seahawks are kind of the two top teams I think be battling it out (in the NFC) if the 49ers can bet it back together because I think they lost a little bit in the pre-season," Montana said. "The next tier not far below them is Green Bay and New Orleans. "In the AFC I think its going to go through Denver or New England, two good organizations with good teams. The other team that scares me a little bit in the AFC -- they had a great preseason but theyve done it before -- is San Diego and their defence is playing better now." ' ' '
